Taking Charge: Towards an Integrated Energy Policy for Saskatchewan

Return to 2011 Archive

Tuesday March 29, 2011
Ramada Hotel, Regina  SK
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Is it time for a more integrated approach to energy policy? From royalty rates to cumulative environmental impacts to new power generation choices, energy decisions seem increasingly interconnected yet are often made in administrative silos. This conference will bring energy leaders and academics together to share their experiences within the province and from other jurisdictions about the opportunities and pitfalls of a more integrated approach to energy policy. It will explore public policy initiatives intended to encourage innovation in any aspect of the production, application, distribution or consumption of conventional or alternative energy sources. The focus will be on measures expected to have significant positive implications for the environment and/or improved energy or economic efficiency. Already a key component of Saskatchewan’s prosperity, energy will likely be even more important in the future. Is Saskatchewan ready for the energy challenges of the 21st century?
