Description:Western Canada’s failure to pivot its economy to take advantage of Asian growth presents grave risks to our future prosperity. Nowhere is this more evident than in the oil business where literally billions of dollars in funding that
would otherwise be available for our universities, schools and hospitals is being lost due to our failure to access markets. This can be remedied by securing access to three critical markets: developing Asia, the US Gulf Coast and under-utilized refineries on the North American east coast. Exporting oil-related jobs to countries with poorer environmental standards is not the answer.
Please Note:This lecture will take place in Regina and will be video-conferenced to a Saskatoon audience.
