| Description: | The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School (JSGS) in cooperation with the Office of the Treaty Commissioner are pleased to present a panel presentation that will examine the development and implementation of the 1992 Treaty Land Entitlement Framework Agreement (TLE), which marked its 20th Anniversary in September 2012. This panel presentation will provide an overview and history of TLE in Saskatchewan and will examine impetus of land claim resolution in Saskatchewan, the opportunities of TLE Framework Agreement and the elements that allow resolution and opportunity for First Nations with TLE claims. The panel will also look to the future and forecast what the next 20 years will look like for First Nations and governments as they continue to resolve outstanding land claims, as well as highlight the economic opportunities that First Nations have benefi tted from in acquiring lands. | |
