| Description: | Unintentional falls are one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity among frail older adults. In her presentation, Dr. Johnson will highlight the epidemiological research related to the surveillance and monitoring of falls and fall-related injuries among seniors and the intervention research focusing on the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of factors associated with falls among seniors in community and long-term care settings. Challenges and opportunities in the injury prevention research area will also be discussed. | |
