Scholarships and Funding

Master of Public Administration
The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School's University of Saskatchewan campus is offering several scholarships for MPA applicants enrolling in the 2010-11 academic year. At least six scholarships of up to $5,000 each and two up to $10,000 each will be awarded to students based on academic standing. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must take at least six program-related courses in the 2010-11 academic year. As a condition of this scholarship, students may be asked to provide some limited scholarly assistance for the Johnson-Shoyama School and its faculty and/or the Diefenbaker Canada Centre. All complete applications received by February 1, 2010, will be considered for a scholarship.

Master of Public Policy
The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School will make available for MPP students in the 2010-11 academic year up to five one-time funding awards of up to $10,000 each. To be eligible for this funding, students must commit to completing the program over a maximum of two academic years. All complete applications received by February 1, 2010, will be considered for funding.

Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy
Highly qualified doctoral students who are engaged in the program on a full-time basis will receive funding at a competitive rate to support their research. All complete applications received by February 1, 2010, will be considered for funding.

International Graduate Student Scholarships
The University of Regina offers a limited number of International Graduate Student Scholarships (IGSS) annually. The value of the scholarship for master's students is $5,000. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis and will be offered to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Are registered for full-time formal credit hours of a graduate program for the winter semester in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research
  • Are students in good standing regarding the registration requirement for international students
  • Were not admitted to the University of Regina through a joint international graduate degree program
  • Show promise as research scholars
  • Have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80% over the equivalent of the last two years of study (can combine undergraduate and graduate studies)
  • Are not receiving other funding from the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research or external agencies that provide the equivalent of a full scholarship
  • Hold no more than 12 hours per week of other employment on or off campus.

The application deadline for International Graduate Student Scholarships is January 8. To apply, applicants must complete a Titled Graduate Scholarship/Awards applications form available on the FGSR website.
