Description:Dr. Jim Cross graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1973 and practiced mainly in emergency medicine until he woke up on his 55th birthday and decided it was time to move on. Now, he teaches emergency medicine in the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Saskatchewan and is the Senior Medical Officer (formerly known as the VP of Medicine) for the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. He has been involved in disaster planning since 1974 and influenza pandemic planning on a national, provincial and local level since the early 1990s.

This event is being co-sponsored by the School of Public Health at the University of Saskatchewan. The School of Public Health off ers a number of programs designed to provide graduate students with a rich array of opportunities in training, research and applied public health practice. These programs include a Master of Public Health, and master and doctoral degrees in biostatistics, and vaccinology and immunotherapeutics.
