JSGS Policy Case Competition
2012-13 Internal Case Competition
On November 24, 2012, the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy was pleased to host its second Internal Policy Case Competition.
The Case Competition is an experiential learning exercise for students that simulate a situation which could happen during the course of a career in the public service. During the competition, six teams (made up of four students) each had two hours to analyze a case study. Each team, playing the role of public servants, were then allotted 20 minutes to present a summary of their analysis and recommendation to a panel of three judges, who played the role of ministerial cabinet members.
The panel of judges included:
- Sharon Lee Smith, Assistant Deputy Minister, Saskatchewan region, Western Economic Diversification
- Ron Styles, President and Chief Executive Officer, SaskTel
- Daphne Taras, Dean, Edwards School of Business
The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy would like to congratulate the following students who were awarded first place in the 2012 JSGS Internal Case Competition:
(L-R: David Cundall, U of R; Nikolina Vracar, U of R; Luis Mata, U of S; Jo-Anne Relf-Eckstein, U of S)
This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsor, SaskTel.
