Academic Programs
The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy offers a number of certificate- and master's-level programs suited for individuals looking to begin their careers or advance their professional study in the areas of public policy, policy administration, and international trade. The challenging curriculum provides students opportunities to address policy issues that have a regional, national, and international focus.
Master of Public Administration (MPA)
The MPA is a course-based program designed to prepare students for careers in public administration and policy work in such diverse areas as NGOs, industry associations, and, of course, the public service. MPA students are exposed to core concepts in policy formation and analysis and have the opportunity to explore policy in such areas as higher education, health and social policy, Aboriginal peoples and public policy, the social economy, international trade agreements, innovation and science policy, regulation, economic and cultural development. The MPA program is offered at both the University of Regina and University of Saskatchewan campuses.

Master of Public Policy (MPP)
The MPP program is a master's-level research program that offers learning and research opportunities for highly qualified students who will advance knowledge and move the study of public policy forward. Students graduating from this program will possess the research skills necessary to play integral roles in the civil service, research organizations, and industry associations. Top students from this program will also go on to doctoral programs in public policy. The MPP program is currently offered at the University of Saskatchewan campus.

Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy (PhD)
The PhD is a doctoral-level research program designed to offer learning and research opportunities for highly qualified students who will advance knowledge and move the study of public policy forward. Students graduating from this program will be in a position to train the next generation of public service professionals and to conduct public policy and management research for government, business, think tanks, and other research organizations. The PhD program is currently offered at the University of Saskatchewan campus.

Master of International Trade (MIT)
Offered as an online, course-based program, the MIT degree brings together practical hands-on experience with academic expertise in a unique and innovative interdisciplinary approach to international trade in the 21st century. Addressing a range of political, economic, commercial, technological, legal and social issues, the program is designed for professionals and practitioners currently engaged in international trade and trade policy in government, international organizations, and the private sector, as well as students interested in pursuing a career in international trade. This program is administered through the University of Saskatchewan campus.

Master's Certificate Programs
The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy offers a 3-course master's certificates in public management, health systems management and public policy analysis. The certificates are designed to meet the needs of practising public administrators, policy analysts and non-profit managers who already have either an undergraduate degree, advanced degrees in another area, or significant amounts of experience, but who wish to increase their conceptual and technical skills in the fields of public administration, non-profit administration or public policy. These certificate programs are currently only offered at the University of Regina campus.
