With over ten years of experience as an educator and researcher, Dr. Alex Teixeira currently teaches at the First Nations University of Canada. Prior to this, he served as a senior business strategy and performance consultant with the City of Regina.
His research has focused on strategically connecting technology, business, and services with public policy, to create a multidimensional model for how digital services can be customized to meet citizens' needs.
Working alongside Dr. Ken Coates, JSGS Professor and Canada Research Chair, Dr. Teixeira is currently conducting research examining the response of Indigenous economic development corporations to the pandemic, including their management, cash flow and investment challenges, commercial adaptations and relations with Indigenous governments. Their work will contribute to the growing, but still limited, amount of scholarly work on indigenous economic development corporations and to the understanding of commercial adaptations to the pandemic of 2020-2022.
