The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) is pleased to appoint Elizabeth Schwartz as an assistant professor in the area of decision making in public policy.
With a PhD in Political Science from the University of British Columbia, Schwartz's doctoral dissertation tested a new theory of public policy adoption at the municipal level in Canada. Schwartz's research has mainly concerned energy policy, climate change and environment policy, local government and governance and qualitative methodology. Schwartz also received her MA in Political Science from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University.
In addition to teaching courses in the Masters of Public Administration program, Schwartz will be taking an active part in a research program on evidence informed decision making and public engagement supported by the Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation.
She will be located on the school’s U of S campus, and her appointment is effective January 1, 2017.
