Information Session for Citizen Participants

University of Regina

Participants needed for research in attitudes toward options for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Canada Research Chair Margot Hurlbert and researcher Larissa Shasko are looking for volunteers to take part in a public engagement study on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in small, remote, or off-grid communities, including assessment of the use of small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). Participants will include both citizens and specialists.

As a citizen participant in this study, you would be asked to attend an information meeting from 7-8:30 pm on Sept. 30th, 2019 and take part in two focus group discussions (120 minutes each) during early October and early November. As a specialist participant in this study, you would be asked to take part in two software-assisted interviews lasting 60-90 minutes each.

ADDITIONALLY: All participants (both citizens and specialists) will be asked to take part in a one-day workshop running from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 26th, 2019. All participants will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire at the beginning and end of the study.
