*CANCELLED* Canada's Change Challenge: How can we cope?

University of Regina University of Saskatchewan Video Conference

Everybody talks about the intensity with which the world is changing. But what are these changes, how are they affecting our lives as Canadians and how are we managing them as a country?

**Until further notice, all JSGS public events are cancelled to minimize the risk of illness and transmission of COVID-19.**

Edward Greenspon, a long-time journalist and policy thinker who began his career in Saskatchewan, identifies three simultaneous forces of change that are disrupting individuals and institutions, including businesses, universities and governments: technological change; climate-energy change; geopolitical change.

Each is potent in its own right. Together, they form a cyclone of change tearing apart the policy assumptions that served us well over many years but are no longer adequate to the challenges at hand. Greenspon will describe the perils and what Canada can do about them.

Edward Greenspon has worked at the intersection of journalism and public policy for more than 30 years. Before becoming President & CEO of the Public Policy Forum, Ed was a journalist with The Globe and Mail, Bloomberg News and newspapers in Western Canada. He is also the author of two books on Canadian politics, policy and public opinion.
