Alec Couros is a Professor of educational technology and media at the Faculty of Education, University of Regina. An award-winning educator, Alec has given hundreds of workshops and presentations, nationally and internationally, on topics such as the designing collaborative learning environments, open/connected learning, social media in education, digital citizenship, and critical media literacy. His graduate and undergraduate courses help current and future educators understand how to use and take advantage of the educational potential offered by new and emerging technologies.

About the Online Education Network

Welcome to the Online Education (OnEd) Network! We are a group of experts—and aspiring experts—working towards creating top-notch online courses for the university community. New technologies, approaches, and methods for online learning are continually changing how courses and programs can be taught. This OnEd monthly workshop series is part of a network at the University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, and beyond. Our mission is to build capacity for online course development and create a network of faculty, instructional designers, and support staff that foster a collegial environment of motivated experts that develops excellence, best practices, and strategies in online programming and teaching.
