CSIP Innovation Forum ~ Science, Technology and Innovation Policy across Canada

Video Conference

The Centre for the Study of Science and Innovation Policy (CSIP) invites all students, faculty, researchers, and citizens interested in the study of science, technology and innovation policy to participate in a bi-weekly forum.

PRESENTED BY: Peter W.B. Phillips, JSGS Distinguished Professor and CSIP Researcher

The impact of provinces in Canadian science, technology and innovation policy is underexplored. Constitutionally and practically, provinces alone and as partners with each other, federal policies, programmes and agencies, cities and universities, are critical actors in Canada’s STI policy space. It is inconceivable that one can hope to understand the design, structure and performance of Canada’s science and innovation system without appreciation for the role of provinces. In this forum, Dr. Peter Phillips will offer insights from a forthcoming book with individual studies of every provincial and territorial approach in an effort to unpack the complexities and opportunities of regionally-differentiated innovation policy in our pan-continental system.
