PRESENTED BY: Dr. John Root (PhD), Executive Director, Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation, Inc.
Established in 2011 as a not-for-profit corporation, the Fedoruk Centre has helped place Saskatchewan among global leaders of nuclear research, development, and training. In addition to funding research projects and investing in institutions within the province, the Centre operates the Saskatchewan Centre for Cyclotron Sciences—a first-class scientific resource, accessible by researchers to advance life sciences with nuclear imaging methods. Through these activities, the Fedoruk Centre is building capacity for research and education and generating benefits for the world—with impacts in health, materials engineering, environment, and energy through the application of nuclear technologies. Working with experts from a variety of disciplines, the Centre is also engaging and holding respectful conversations with the public on the benefits and risks of nuclear technologies, such as nuclear-generated electricity—a clean, reliable supply of energy that could benefit the province for years to come.
CSIP is pleased to co-host this session with the Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS), which promotes the exchange of information on all aspects of nuclear science and technology and its applications.
