About the presentation:

In 2013, Peter MacKinnon authored a report entitled “A Futures Fund for Saskatchewan”, which suggested that a sovereign wealth fund would be a way for the province to moderate the ups and downs of commodity prices in our resource dependent economy. This represents a path not travelled for the province and, as we are once again at the peak of a resource super-cycle, a useful touch point to reflect on our future direction. The panel will both look back on the recommendations embodied in the Futures Fund report and look forward to the vision of economic growth and social development embodied in the growth plan.
