About the presentation:
Explore the intricate tapestry of cross-border governance in North America and Europe through the insightful lens of the newly released book, "Agents and Structures in Cross-Border Governance: North American and European Perspectives." Editors Bruno Dupeyron, Andrea Noferini and Tony Payan and several book contributors will delve into formal and informal frameworks facilitating cross-border cooperation, and will illuminate the emergence, institutionalization, and evolution of these structures. Faced with challenges from border securitization, the book's case studies unravel the dynamic interplay of infrastructure, resource sharing, politics, economics, security, human rights, environment, culture, and community. Unveiling how governance schemes navigate the repercussions of border security policies, the lecture unravels power struggles between national and subnational entities, providing valuable insights in a world grappling with climate change and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
