JSGS Student Event ~ Inside the Public Service: Navigating Roles, Respect, and Career Paths

Join us for a dynamic panel discussion on February 26, exploring the inner workings of the public service.  This event is exclusively for current JSGS students who are interested in gaining some insight into the day-to-day operations of the public service, including the working culture, hierarchical dynamics, and the diverse roles within a government organization.  The expert panel will provide valuable perspectives on team collaboration and professional respect. Don't miss this opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge that will help prepare you for your future public service career!

Featuring: 

  • Simranpreet Bhalla is a 2022 graduate of JSGS and winner of the 2021 IPAC student award. She is currently Manager, Transportation Policy in the Ministry of Highways.
  • Susan Lloyd is Executive Assistant to the Regina Director, JSGS. Before joining the school, she worked as Executive Assistant/Senior Office Manager to the President of the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association, the Mayor of the City of Regina, the CEO of Enterprise Saskatchewan, and the Deputy Ministers of Enterprise and Innovation and  the Ministry of Rural Revitalization.
  • Doug Moen is an executive in residence at JSGS. A lawyer by training, he has served as Saskatchewan’s Deputy Minister to the Premier as well as Deputy Minister of Justice as well as Deputy Attorney General. A former Executive Director of JSGS, he has also served on a wide variety of charitable and public sector boards.
  • Amanda Sich is a 2020 graduate and active alumnae of JSGS and on the board of IPAC Saskatchewan. She is currently acting Executive Director of Strategic Policy, Planning, and Reporting in Integrated Justice Services. She has also served in a variety of policy and management roles in the Ministry of Government Relations and the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General.
