JSGS Students & alumni are invited to participate in an online workshop on methods and strategies for using generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools like ChatGPT to assist in briefing note writing.

This session will be led by JSGS faculty members Martin Boucher and Justin Longo, and Student Writing Advisor Heather McWhinney.

In this interactive and hands-on workshop, attendees will work with the GenAI tool ChatGPT to develop skills in drafting briefing notes. Issues to be covered include crafting better prompts; setting custom instructions; improving responses through iterative outputs; brainstorming, exploring topics, and crafting pros and cons; summarizing long documents; and re-writing ChatGPT first drafts. Attendees are encouraged to bring to the workshop briefing notes they have previously written, as well as briefing note issues they are interested in exploring.
