Featuring:

Sharon Crowe, Director of Legal Services, Community Legal Clinic of York Region

Shawn Fraser, Chief Executive Officer, John Howard Society of Saskatchewan

Moderated by: Jessie C. Buydens, Partner, SPM Law

Join us for a conversation about complex legal and policy issues and justice system realities surrounding homelessness and associated claims for a right to housing. Our panel, guided by moderator Jessie Buydens, will explore different aspects of these issues, including evolving jurisprudence surrounding "right to shelter" claims under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the role of residential tenancy law, and related debates in the context of Canada’s international human rights obligations. This timely discussion will be of interest for those who practise law or are invested in social justice, constitutional issues, and human rights.
