2022 JSGS Internal Case Competition

Video Conference

All current JSGS students are encouraged to register for this experiential learning opportunity!

Case competitions provide students with valuable experiential learning opportunities where they can test their knowledge and expertise, think critically on their feet, and develop self-confidence presenting in a team setting.

Within a 1.5 hrs period, each team is required to analyze and evaluate a real-world scenario, using the skills, knowledge and experience they have acquired from their studies. Students must rely on their own abilities, plus the use of Microsoft offices software and the internet. Each team is responsible for crafting a set of plausible policy options and one recommendation, creating a PowerPoint presentation, and delivering and defending their recommendation to a panel of judges, typically comprised of senior public servants.

What you should know:

  • Participants are required to be available for the entirety of the event as per the scheduled time.
  • The case will be provided to students during the competition so no preparation is required leading up to the event.
  • The members of JSGS's National Case Competition Team will be chosen from among the participants in the JSGS Internal Case Competition.
  • After registering, keep a close eye on your inbox for further information regarding the competition. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.
