Video Conference

Are you an undergraduate student or professional interested in advancing your career? Join us by Zoom and learn about our course-based master's degree and graduate certificates.

Established in 2007, by the University of Regina and University of Saskatchewan, the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy is a joint provincial school dedicated to educating graduate students, public servants and those across sectors who are interested in, and devoted to, advancing public value. With nationally accredited graduate programs and a wealth of executive education training opportunities, the school is widely recognized for its innovative professional training and research excellence.

Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in the public service, or the NGO or non-profit sectors, our programs will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to begin or advance your career as a public administration or policy professional.

With both part-time and full-time study options, our Master of Public Administration (MPA) program is designed for students and mid-career professionals looking to advance their understanding of public administration. During the MPA program, students develop the necessary analytical skills to know when and how to use evidence to support their work; gain a deep understanding of the role of politics and democracy in public policy development, including the roles of the various institutions and policy actors; and, learn the importance of effective service delivery and the ongoing management and evaluation of public policy. MPA courses cover themes such as governance and administration, public finance, public policy analysis, ethical leadership and democracy, and strategic management in the public sector. Students enrolled in the MPA program are also eligible to apply for the JSGS Executive Internship Program, which pairs interns with senior level public servants in the federal or provincial public service, or with municipal governments and non-governmental organizations.

For those not interested in a full master's program, we also offer a suite of graduate certificate options comprised of three graduate-level classes. Certificate topics include:

  • Economic Analysis for Public Policy
  • Non-Profit Management
  • Public Management
  • Public Policy Analysis
  • Social Economy and Co-operatives

Join us via zoom to learn how our MPA program or graduate certificates can help you develop your knowledge and skills, while improving your employment chances.
